Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG HSM II Macro Zoom Lens Is about the next best think too a Nikon Lens, 2.8 is good fast piece of glass. Just remember the bigger the glass the better the picture and most of all the price, the same Nikon lens will be about $1,200.00 and the Sigma will $400.00 less. Sigma has many fast Lens at 2.8 they even have some new ones at 1.8 like there 24,28,50mm in low light any one of these Lens are great too have in your bag of tricks and if you shoot Weddings there a must have. Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG HSM II Macro Zoom Lens is the newer version of this lens the older one well not work well with Digital Cameras unless the software was upgraded by Sigma. For you who have the money they just came out with the OS model witch will help you if you don't know how too hold a lens steady in low light like in a church that will not let you use a Flash this will be help full and the price is about $1,200.00 in stead of Nikon's $2,200.00 for there VR lens. If your new too the business and trying too save a little money go Sigma after a dozen Weddings or so or by the time you will have too replace it you would have made the money too by Nikon. 1. What I like ? The price and the speed of 2.8 lens. 2. What I love ? More bang for my dollar. 3. What I dislike ? Its a litter heaver then the Nikon . 4. Why I decided to buy it ? Price, good glass, 2.8 speed, and a 5 year warranty. Sigma will stand by there lens as long as you don't drop it!!!!!!!Read full review
Product was shipping quickly and arrived one day prior than expected. It was in excellent used condition; came with all features as listed. Good durable zoom lens. Great value! I've used this on 2 weddings & 10 portrait sessions since receiving it. It's my go-to lens!

Sigma has been under-rated for years but the fact is that Sigma puts out great camera equipment. All of my lenses are made by Sigma and I've shot photos next to photographers who were factory equipt and no one could tell the difference. I used this Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG APO Macro HSM II to shoot a jazz concert indoors under low lighting conditions. The business that hired me to photograph the concert were blown away by the photos. Buy Sigma it is the best investment you'll ever make.
This Lense is a great lense. I use it for Model photography with my Sigma SD14. You wont find a better lense and camera. The shots are amazin! If you want to take a look go to www.flickr.com/photos/hpyflyboy. I have some up using the Sigma 70-200mm F2.8.
i love the weight and pro feel of this lens , it is an EX so it must be that kind of quality. its not exactly the sharpest lens, if i could go back i would get the tamron 70-200 2.8 because i hear it has excellent optics where it beats the sigmas, although the HSM on the sigma is fast and quiet, i would take good sharp crisp pictures any day.
