Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in Acoustic Electric Guitars
There is no better value on the market than this guitar. Gibson must have made too many Les Paul Junior's with the 1955 specifications and decided to sell them under the Melody Maker name so they could lower the price. Same plant, same woods, same electronics, same hardware and same people as make the Les Paul only this is at the price of a Chinese made Epiphone. No comparison in quality to an Epiphone. Sustain for days, the plek'd frets are perfect and they even fixed the old style bridge with a compensated one so I didn't need to spend $100 extra to replace it with a Tone Pro's. This guitar run even used Nitro paints which they charge a fortune for on their Custom and "Special Run" Les Paul models. If you don't know, Nitro is what Fender and Gibson used in the 50's and in their Custom Shop today. It is tougher to paint with, more expensive and is said to let the wood breathe more producing superior tone than Polyurethane. It show wear patterns so know the guitar will naturally relic with play. I own Gibson Custom Shops, Vintage Les Pauls, LP Juniors and this is up to snuff. It does not have the Robot Tuning System so you don't have to worry about replacing those out or the value going down. This has Gibson Deluxe Tuners just like an LP. The P-90's are a little different sounding than you typically find from Gibson but not in a bad way. They are a combo between a Gibson P-90 and a Fender Gray Bottom with nice mid's but with more bell like tone on the highs and some really great lows. Comes in at 7.8 lbs and she plays great. If you are looking to add a P-90 Guitar to add to your arsenal, this is the single best way to do it for the money.Read full review

I replaced the tuners with Grover sealed tuners and the bridge with a Graph Tech NW2 wraparound. Now the guitar rings like a bell.

I had a 2003 MM and the light weight, handling, workmanship and play-ability were all top notch. I had a pro shop set it up with 9's. I didn't like the stock PU which was NOT a P-90 so I bought a SD Pearly Gates, reamed out the cavity and wired it for coil tapping. The guitar screams and I wish I still had it. It's worth looking into if you want to spend the $$.
