I am a pro photographer, have been for over 38 years.I have always carried my "backup camera" with me on vacation, or for non paid events. I wanted something with great image quality, the ability to shoot in RAW, and the ability to use external flash units. This camera has all of these things and more. But for me, it is the small footprint that I like best. It fits in my jacket pocket and does not weigh me down. I think I will get many years of pleasure with this "very gently used" P7700.

I had a previous Nikon Coolpix p7100, which broke. I thought the Coolpix P7700 would be an advanced and improved version. The Nikon Coolpix P7700 is clunkier to use with different software commands for navigating through the pictures for deleting and editing. When you turn off the camera, the lens does not self-retract into its own lens protective housing, so you need to have a lens cap, which I end up buying separately. This leads to a less ideal set up when taking pictures with a lens cap dangling on a string. Overall a good camera, though not as impressed with its ease of use or navigating it as a Coolpix P7100.

This camera is compact, has very good resolution, easy to use, but gives a user the ability to do so much more than a point and shoot. Has features usually found on more expensive and much larger SLR cameras. (under and over exposure, surprisingly wide range zoom lens, close up capability, built in flash and much more) Large movable monitor screen in the back can rotate and pivot to enable the user to get close to the ground (for flower or small animal shots) without actually lying on the ground. Small enough to take anywhere!

Best Digital Camera I have ever owned and I have had 5-6 over the years. Size threw me off when I first got it as I thought it was gonna be bigger. But that's not a bad thing it's very portable and well made. Full of features....many you'd find on a DSLR. Fast f2.0 - 4.0 lens is just crazy sharp and fast. Also one of the best zoom in this class 28-200mm. Does GREAT for nite pics as you hafta put it in Night Scene Mode. 1600 ISO pics barely have any noise which is a first for any camera I have had! Battery life is excellent. Fully articulating 3in screen is a huge plus. No eye level view finder but I never miss it. Can be used fully manual settings if you like. Threaded for 40.5mm filters. Just to let ya know I have been a Canon fan for many years and had considered the G15. But with the better zoom and lil better pic quality I saw in the reviews the P7700 won over the G15 in my book.I could go on and on about how great this lil camera is but you get the jest of it.Read full review
In general average picture quality for 12.2 MP camera. Little to expensive for the quality provided. Prize is going down, after couple of month in the market. Excellent exposures in daylight situations, but at night and dim light so so noisy and grainy. At high ISO, to compensate exposure, it displayed so poor image quality plus the unwanted blurry effect. So disappointed in this sense since the aperture is at f2.Of course I had to use externa flash SB910 to avoid missing. Nikon manufacture could do better. I really liked the close up feature, I had attached a 10x macro vivitar and gave me an oustanding macro images at zoom, few inches away from the subject. At HD 1080, Average image quality with the VR feature. Ok at wide but at zoom awful, I rather recommend the tripod usage. Also I tried the Opteka pro video stabilizer with this camera, and ok image quality, but could be better. I dislike that it records the zoom motor. I add the recommended ext microphone ME-1, it improves some how, but still it was noisy while using the Zoom. Also I tried the Opteka pro video stabilizer with this camera, and I was able to improve the image quality at motion.Read full review
