I wasn't sure what to expect but my former experience with a thrift store find of a Nikon Coolpix 3300 for $3 bucks led me to want another with a few more features and a wider angle lens. This camera fit the bill perfect and the image quality is great for such a budget low end camera. The price was more than fair given the quality and features. It has some semi-manual options which I wasn't aware of but even with the auto options --it is a good little pocket camera for just having with you. It is much easier to manage than using a phone all the time.

I had a Nikon Coolpix P310 before. I wanted to be able to take pictures of dancers at the Swing dances and folk dances we attend. Most cameras cannot handle moving people in somewhat dim light. My iPad sure can’t although it takes great pix in great light. When I tried the P310 in a camera store I saw that it took extraordinary pics under difficult light situations. So I paid $525 for a new one. It was everything I wanted - small, light, easy to use, great pix if I used the right setting. I used it for some years. But then I took for a trip in a dinghy and learned sadly that it is so not waterproof. In one second I ruined that great little camera. I went to replace it and found the camera store no longer had it. The comparable camera was much bigger and heavier. So I got a $150 Coolpix and was totally disappointed with it. Finally it occurred to me to search ebay and I found the exact camera I’d liked so much. I bought it and am completely satisfied with it. And I will never let it get wet again.Read full review

Its nice to be able to take out a camera and know that you are going to get good pics. Of course it is not a professional camera by any means, but it does the job. After adjusting your settings, you will notice nice, punchy clear colors. I shoot mostly in black and white however it is nice to have the ability to choose between black and white and color. Cons, I wish it could shoot in raw and that it could focus quicker. It struggles in low light, however who constantly photographs in low light? Again if your out and about and don't want to take a bigger DSLR, take this one with you.

Nice small camera that takes good quality pictures. I plan on using this with my Nikon Prostaff spotting scope once the adapter I've ordered has arrived.

I like it! The quality is excellent, I love the finish. I cannot speak in depth too much since I use it in auto mode. I can say that most of the time, unlike some of the past compact camera's I've had, that the close up shots are pretty good. Once in a while you have to refocus, but not normally. I am very happy with the quietness and the functionality of the buttons, menu sy stem, etc... The design is quite different than past Nikon's in this price range, the buttons and finish seem of much higher quality than most any I've tried. I am very pleased. As I said, what is most important to me is indoor and close up photos which it does both quite well.
