I love the shallow depth of field. I used it on my bmpcc, and it works like a charm. I love how I can control the aperture via iris control. The size of the focus ring is idea for smooth focusing. I love it. I hope to purchase the 30mm one. Sigma is great!

This Sigma 19mm I bought is a first class lens for M4/3, in third party quantitative tests the lens performed well and this tipped the balance towards this particular lens. Also, I already own the Sigma 30mm and the 60mm, both excellent lenses. This lens performs better than the Olympus 17mm lens but not quite as well as the Lumix 20mm lens, but it would be very hard to see the difference in a well made image using both lenses. I shoot with the Lumix GX7 and only in monochrome and the lens serves me well. Lens construction seems well done, as would be expected from Sigma. The focusing is fast, faster than my Lumix Elmaret 45mm, Leica Macro, and also very quite. Also, it works well with the in-body stabilizer and is immediately recognized by the camera as a 19mm lens. It is larger than the pancake lenses in this focal length, but a lot easier to use. It a perfect choice for my work.Read full review
TL;DR: If you can spend more, buy the 20mm f1.7 from panny. If you own a Sony APS sensor camera, you can get this one. I see this lens as a cheaper alternative to the Panasonic 20mm f1.7 pancake. For MFT sensors it is like a normal lens (38 mm equivalent), so in that sense it is a good buy (I don't like 50's, I always feel that something is left outside the frame). Good sharpness even at f2.8. If your pocket holds up, go for the 20mm pancake instead of this one. If you own a Sony with APS sensor, this is a good choice (it is equivalent to 31mm), and with good sharpness, and probably will get better bokeh than in MFT.

The Sigma f2.8 lenses have become my absolute favourite Micro Four Thirds lenses. Their sharpness is remarkable yet it's the overall character that make them champions, it's astonishing that such modestly priced lenses can give the best of Leica or Olympus a run for the money in terms of color-handling, bokeh shape, and overall clarity. The 19mm is such a great all-purpose lens that it's what I leave on my camera when I'm not sure what I'll be shooting that day. If you are new to M43 I would suggest picking up the 19mm, 30mm, and 60mm f2.8 Sigma lenses and living with them for a year before branching out. They'll handle anything you could ask of them and give you high-level results.

Photo quality is amazing, especially for the price. An excellent lens. Significantly smaller than the kit zoom lens supplied with my Olympus EPL1, which makes my camera more discreet and easier to carry around.
