Pro's-Spacious QWERTY keyboard+touchscreen, AMOLED screen, wifi, build quality, bare-bones Windows 6.5(no skin/overlay), flash lite. Con's-Windows 6.5 is dated and buggy, camera is lousy, multimedia is erratic, limited apps., resistive not capasitive touchscreen, named after a bad Mariah Carey movie I think ;) This phone may not be for everyone-but I really like it! In fact, this is my second one-I bought it when it came out-that one has since developed hardware issues-so I purchased this new one. I have been due for upgrade/contract renewal with AT&T for some time now, but am uninterested in all the full touch-screen rectangles that seem to be all that's available in the upper end of the market. I prefer a full keyboard, non-slider...and the little-know and unfortunately named HP iPAQ GLISTEN, yep Glisten, fits the bill well. It offers a bare-bones, no-nonsense version of the older Windows Phone 6.5 Professional. The lack of a skin or overlay is a plus in my opinion as it tends to free up space,as WP 6.5 is hungry. I think the OS interface is attractive. However, once you get past skin-deep, that's where WP 6.5 really shows its age and poor design. Drop-down menus are downright tiny-not too good for an over 6 footer with large fingers like me-forcing you to break out the stylus-in 2012-yep-but I am willing to make this minor sacrifice for the amazing keyboard! This keyboard is spacious! They keys are layed out well and have a firm satisfying feel to them. The hardware is top-notch. Weighty and solid with a soft-touch rubbery back, bluish-chrome accents on the sides and an attractive fascia that's at home in the boardroom or club(did I just say that?). The screen is very nice-the resolution is lower than it should be in this class, but it is Super AMOLED and the blacks are rich black, the whites are pretty white...visibility in sun is good. The touchscreen is pretty responsive for a resistive. The OS-well the OS is dated-a bit buggy-requiring several hard resets throughout my first iPAQ's lifetime...but its hackable, modifyable, and customizable. So there you have it-the business phone with the unfortunate name!Read full review
This phone is not for everyone unless your are well versed with windows mobile 6.5. It may not be much intuitive as Android or iOS but it's a real powerhouse. HP hardware is very well built, it has got enough processing power (528mhz) and RAM (256 MB) to handle most of the task. Windows is known real mulitasking but not for multimedia purpose. Primary use is for email and calendar sync, IM and some social task. Overall i am satisfied with this purchase. Favorite features: HSDPA, GPS, WiFi,good battery life when compared other WM6 devices and build quality.
has the look of Blackberry but with a faster and more convenient operating system. Beautiful touch screen with full qwerty keyboard. good browser with 3G and wi-fi. text messaging, email, pictures, videos, music player, games mobile video and voice recording (apps are available). the speaker phone is outstanding. comes with windows live. reception is good and battery life is pretty standard.
So far this is the best phone I've ever used. However I think It's pretty stupid that Microsoft doesn't release new apps for it. It's basically like having the bare minimum features of windows on your phone. So I give it a 4 of 5 rating. I would recommend a newer android over this because of the fact that Windows Mobile 6.5 is abandoned.
I enjoy the design of the touch screen and the qwerty keyboard, right at one's fingertips. Using multiple menus to use a touch screen key board is a hassle. The data stream is sometimes slow but I can't tell if that's AT&T problem or the phone. The sound quality is above par. The windows operating system is already antiquated, stuff is dated within a year. The built in Wi-fi + 3G is a definite plus. Trends in phone design are changing towards 4g Android phones which have hundreds of apps already loaded, and can work as a wireless router. It was a decent purchase, If one did comparison prices with phones with the same features this one has a competitive edge. I wouldn't spend $300 for a brand new one nor for overpriced data plans. Not bad as a transition phone.
