There are more options for customization of Sims and outfits, etc., than I at first realized. Love some of the new items, like the digital aquarium and hot tubs, and new musical instruments (Sims can jam together!), as well. And I really like the Celebrity feature where you can see how "famous" different Sims are. But especially the downtown area. The apartments, subways, night life, and social interactions give Bridgeport a whole different "feel" from previous towns!

For all the Sims lovers who loved the nightlife for the sims 2, this game is perfect! This game offers new hairstyles and outfits as the expansions packs do as well as new ways to make money (such as the option to become a mixologist which mixology is a new skill to learn). Not a difficult game to play however, so if you're looking for a challenge, don't get your hopes too high. And for all the "twi-hards" and vampire lovers, you have the ability to have your sim turned into a vampire! Cool right? I just had mine "turned" (it takes a couple days after being bitten for them to change) and so far, it's been pretty cool. Her skin has changed and her eyes are that golden amber color like the Cullens (LOL). But you can't just start the game expecting to have that option available to you. You must have a decent relationship with a vampire sim before you ask them to turn you. Vamps are pretty easy to spot; just go out after 5 and you'll run into one eventually. Oh and when you change, avoid the sun! But if you want to stick to becoming a celebrity, that path is pretty easy too. My sim is on 4 stars right now (out of 5) and that only took 2 days (a few hours each day). And don't say you don't want to because this expansion pack is pointless to you if you don't want to increase your celebrity status. The lounges, bars, and etcetra will be difficult for you to get into if you don't move up. *shrugs* Just impress a few celebrities (the more stars the better) by talking about your wealth (or skills, job, etc.) then build a relationship with them and you'll be well on your way to the top of sim society. :) And our sims also have new dance moves! Looks like they got rhythm! Hahaha but they still have those crazy dance moves that we are used too. This game comes with the option for your sim to live the nightlife in apartments, penthouses, and mansions (regular houses too; blah). And if you want, customize your mansion or house with an elevator and a curved pool! Loading time is fairly long though (not sure whether that's the game to blame or my computer but I only have 3 sim games installed on here o.O). Overall this is a fun game to play in your spare time. So will you commit your sim to a life of stardom and fame or give in to the dark side? The choice is entirely yours...Read full review
All of the new content such as the clubs and bars and high-rise apartments are definitely fun to play around with, but gardeners won't like the new town so much since the skill basically requires you buy a lot and build a house (they really need to create a planting box or something~!). My only complaint about the game is how easy it is to become a celebrity and often against your will. Being a celebrity gets more annoying the more stars you have, because not only will Sims and paparazzi mob you Sim no matter where you go, but your Sim will eventually reach a point where they get negative moodlets for being recognized in public places. The vampires addition is a nice touch - however, it has its issues too. Vampires are instantly recognizable because even the ones you just pass on the street get put into your relationship tab and have a glowing red aura. I would have hoped it would be somewhat more difficult to find and meet them. Anyway, a great addition to your Sims 3 collection as long as you don't mind being stalked everywhere you go.Read full review
The game is awesome to play!! I'm really enjoying it alot!! It was hard at first becasue i'm new to playing video games---yes I know they been around for years, but i would just watch my son----so it takes me a minute to get the hand eye coordination down pact. The people in the game look so real and they are having a good time. i really recommend this game and i got it at a great price.

There are 3 cool new aspects to bring to your Sims experience, and 2 of them just aren't that great. Clubs/Appartments/High Rise Buildings- You want to take your sim out to a club? Well just know you will only be able to have fun for about 5 minutes or so, as people start arriving more at night time but they close at 2-3 am! By the time I get my sims doing something, it's time to go home beause the club closed. It takes forever for my sims to get in/out of the elevator, so they will always be standing there clicking their heels, since people only go in one at a a time. The other thing is, especially in the town of Bridgeport where there are so many clubs/bars, is that almost each one is almost empty! All the fun stuff you see in the trailer/cover basically never happens, as the clubs are almost empty and filled with sims generally just standing around. Also, apartments really aren't that great considering you can only move on family into it, so I don't really see the point.................... Celebrities- If you have your town setting on "Story Progression" beware. Almost everyone will become a celebrity, and there is no way to reverse it. Leave a family and come back? One is bound (even a kid) to be a celebrity! And then other people can't approach them without having to go through impressing them, which can take a while. Also, even if story progression isn't enabled, if you have a celebrity they will raise their celebrity star level (how famous they are) very fast. All you need to do is talk to another celebrity and a few times and you are twice as famous!...................... Vampires- This is the only good new aspect to the game. It's more difficult to become a vampire than a celebrity, and you can make your sim go to the science facility in case they don't want to be a vampire anymore. (Sadly, however, you can't bite strangers.).................................... So this game was pretty disappointing. The expansion items were cool, the only really good one being the hot tub. The clothes and hair looked nice at first, but I never really used them later on. They are all very "clubby".............................. If you are debating which expansion to get, I highly recommend Pets or Generations over this one :/Read full review
