**After extensive play, I have found that "Adventure" falls short of the much higher marks set by Super Monkeyball I and II. **The graphics are nowhere near as good, the music and sounds are simply repeats from other versions, and the loading takes ::F::O::R::E::V::E::R::!! **Every single action you perform requires loading time, which causes frustration in and of itself. **The learning curve for this game is perhaps 30 minutes from initial load to, "Oh... THAT'S what I'm supposed to be doing!" Lousy narrative in the How-To Guide is partly to blame. There are way better instructions on the web, I would suggest using them! **New features include over 20 characters to play with, most available for purchase in the Monkey Stores. Challenging new puzzle format, where you have to complete certain tasks assigned along the way to progress. Inventive monkey cities such as Jungle Island, Kongri-La, Zootopia and Moonhaven offer a change of scenery and difficulty. Standard favorite Party Games such as Fight and Race, alongside new pointless endeavors such as Bounce and Cannon. Oh, the humanity. **One of the few things that remains similar to previous versions of 'monkey mania' are the mini-games. There are 50 in the entire game. Finding them is task #1, beating them is task #2- infinity. The lower levels are the easiest to beat, but get progressively harder the higher up you go. (Think Advanced Level 26, SMB2, "Launchers") Many of these games require little skill, but a whole lot of luck, so play at your own risk! My suggestion? Keep a 12 year old on hand in case you end up with a task or minigame you simply cannot do. I've yet to see any video game component stump one of them! ;-) Well worth the money, if you're looking for a long-term investment...as it will take a while to be able to complete the game!Read full review
I have searched all over looking for this game! Went into gamestop today for the third time to exchange the wrong Monkey Ball game. The mazes and games are fun on part 1 and part 2 monkey ball but THIS ONE, SUPER MONKEY BALL ADVENTURE IS AWESOME!!! It has a pretty cool adventure mode but its the mini games that are THE BEST! Target, Canon, Race and fight mode are the best out of all the Monkey Ball modes. In canon mode you get to be the first to knock down your opponent's castle, which are bricks, and watch them come down. While they are destroying your castle! It took my boys and I quite a while to figure out the target mode, but once we did we were aiming at the impossible and laughing the whole time! The race & fight mode are similar to other monkey ball versions but the platforms are different, and in fight mode some platforms even disappear! The big punching mit gets me laughing with my kids everytime! If you get tired of the same old game, THIS IS THE GAME FOR YOU!!! So different in so many ways! LOVE IT! Super Monkey Ball Adventure is the last of the monkey ball series for GameCube. This game is very enjoyable. Monkeys running around in balls. What could be better. The layout, gameplay and graphics are very good. So many different mazes and puzzles, you can play this game for hours. For those who love a challenge and don't give up easily, this game's for you. Ther are also mini games that you and 3 friends can enjoy day in and day out. The Super Monkey Ball series, Including Banana Blitz for the wii, should be among any NINTENDO game collection.
MY 14 YEAR LOVES IT , IT IS ONE OF THOSE GAMES YOU CANT MASTER IT IN A WEEK, WELL THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE WANTING FOR YOUR KIDS. SO YOU DONT HAVE TO BUY AS MANY OF THEM, THIS ONE WILL KEEP HIM OR HER BUSS. FOR A WHILE. IF YOU CAN PICK ONE UP FOR UNDER $35.00 OR UNDER IT IS WELL WORTH IT. IT WILL BE THE BEST YOU HAVE SPENT!!.
