When I first heard about Electronic Arts development of this game called 'SPORE'. I was very intrigued. It sounded different. Design your own life form along their guide lines. Starting with something like a single-celled organism, and helping it to develop and evolve through important stages in this game until it's capable of hopping into it's own space ship. Then flying to other worlds in other galaxies. Enough about this game. Which is still yet to reach us next September. This is about the pre-released- 'Spore Creature Creator'. Which gives people like me a taste of 'Spore''s most inovative feature. The 'Creature Creator' tool. Giving you a broad variety of pre-fab mouths, eyes, ears, noses, arms, legs and other things more exotic. Alot of them very alien or looking recognisebly like something based on a limited cross section of our animal kingdom. These bits, can be snapped onto the torso, that can be flipped and twirled from, a small cigar to a large Zepplinn shape. If you want it that way. Use your imagination and creative skills to mould it into the shape of a man, animal or both. There is a spinal column inside this plastinceni like substance that can be strectched by pulling the arrows at a each end as they appear when you mouse click on on the spine. Pulling them out creates extra segments, pushing them, back in makes the spine shorter until there are only two ro three left. Each one of these segments can also be enlarged or reduced using the mouse wheel. Carefull manipluation can give you very realistic looking human or animal torso. Whether you have the spine standing vertical upright walking or horizontal four legged. Though, you really need the game right in front of you to truly understand what I mean. It's basically a revisitng to the days when I used to make stuff out of Play-Doh or Lego. It's that interesting. Of course the fun just doesn't stop there. As there is no immediate limit to how many eyes, ears, mouth noses, arms, legs can put on you creation. You don't have to stop at a pair of eyes, ears, one nose, a mouth, a pair of arms and legs. Neither do these peices need to be placed where you would normally find them. Just look at at the wierds on the front cover of the game box. Just about every Lovecraftion monstrosity could be catered for. Within reason. Every part you use will cost Bio Points. You start with something like 2000 or near that amount. A Complexity barr fills as you add on each peice.. After that, you cannot build onto it any more. They say that the real reason that it's restricted is to not over tax the animations. As it goes, you will find that alot of your monsters will not be interpreted by the game properly. As you will see limbs moving through other limbs, heads collapsing in on themselves rather unrealistically when you are taking your monster for test run. Upright walking will not be so easy. Lastly, you will aslo be able to apply textures and paint when you have finished building your pet. About a week before I got the full version of the Creature Creator. I had made do with the Free trial download which only has a sparce 25% of the parts. The one I purchased here has 75% or all. A sample of my work. -E.T. This isn't real Spore. It's a defunct demo to a deleted thing or whatsit...i'm not quite sure. But i am sure that this is NOT the classic spore evolution game with new parts. It's just creature making game with a spore style in which you can't even size the body. It's ok for what it is, but be warned: like i said, this is NOT SPORE.
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
Great software for young and old alike. Easy creation of almost an infinite amount of 'creatures' that can move, dance, interract within your created world or with others. It's like giving everyone the chance to be a 3-d animator without the hassle of learning many months of programming and code. Everything is laid out for you, just pick a body and adjust to suit, do the same with heads, appendages and so forth. Your Spore creatures are only limited by your own imagination. My 11 year old is already quite the 'expert' creator and is constantly modifying or making new creatures for her created world. No blood,no gore, no sex, no innuendoes..just the fun of actually 'creating' and playing with your own creatures.
The game makes use of a draconian DRM (digital rights management) system! Each copy can only be installed a total of three times (this is especially important on Ebay as the used game you are getting may not have any installations left at all). After the three you can call EA to try to reset your activations, they are under no obligation to do so. In addition, the game installs with SecuROM, a controversial copy protection product. I would encourage all users to research this product before purchasing spore.
Spore Creature Creator (PC Games) is a fun computer game for the 8-11 year olds who will enjoy creating their own creatures: eyes, ears, heads, horns, scales, etc., painting the creature with unique patterns, playing with it. What I like about this is it's a nonviolent pc game that children can enjoy creating instead of destroying. Very reasonably priced. A good buy.
