I love the Far Cry series so I was hoping for magic when I seen they were porting to the 360. But sadly that is all it is, a port. You do get Instincts and Evolution but they are the exact same games that you played on the Xbox. Nothing new is added and the graphics are last generation. But if you have not experienced Far Cry, this is a perfect opportunity. This is probably the best competition Halo has had in the 1st person shooter genre as far as Xbox Live play goes. The thing that makes this game different from others is a great map maker that can allow you to have endless battles. You will probably spend hours just messing around with it. The gameplay is fun but can feel a little too linear even though you may constantly find yourself lost in the jungle. AI may be too smart and will kill you a lot so be prepared to die. There is a lot of game on this disc but you may have already played it once and I really can't recommend a purchase if you already own the originals. Rent before you Buy. 4/5Read full review
I loved this game. Generally i like to play a game on hard and take it slow to enjoy the whole depth of the gameplay. But lately i havent had much time for video games, so i did it on easy just so i could blaze through the game and enjoy its entirety. I only have one complain about this game, and that is that you aren't sufficiently notified when you're being shot. i'll be in an intense killing spree and all the sudden a stray bullet will kill me before i notice my health has gone down at all. but other than that, everything is perfect. the story is great and combines all the killing of a 007 game with all the travel and scenery of a more "T-rated " adventure game. I also found it very easy to keep track of what was going on in the story without having to get cought up in overly long chit-chat cut scenes. in shor. This game is awesome. you will like it. So you should buy it.Read full review
Its a xbox game thats ported to the 360 console. A little more detail, more smoother, a little but its a fair title. There are two games in this title. One is the xbox Instincts story and the next is the Evolution story. All are somewhat the same in difficulty, easy, normal and hard or.. hunter, predator almost all play the same, no difference in difficulty. The difficulty levels dont stack which means on some games, when you played the highest difficulty and won, you unlocked medium and easy difficulty achievements too. In Farcry your going to have to play each difficulty to unlock each difficulty achievements. One thing that does stack are the kills and the missing Kreiger samples, for example you can get 40 backstab kills from a easy campaign and a harder campaign. Using cheatcodes will NOT negate the achievements, so that will help you. the "Bloodlust" give full feral power, "UnleashHell" is infinite ammo but still need to reload and "IamJackCarver" restores full health were the most helpful cheats to me. Another thing, I found that lying down will make you immune to melee attacks but not to gunfire. I used this technique in the first part of the final battle on the Insincts story, I went to the corner, lied flat and shot the spawning mutants then got up did the second part with the boss. This is helpful on the bridge level with the two snipers on the Evolution story, in the middle, behind the sand bags (on left when you first encounter the bridge and the doors close) if you work this glitch, you can snipe the jumping guys and the two snipers (even on the highest difficulty) Multiplayer is lacking if not empty, if you can get another person to help you, you can do most of the counting achievements easily, trap kills, grenade kills, runover vehicle kills, headshots. For the capture the flag, capture the sample and predator achievements, this can be done by yourself. Done by winning matches, not by points in each match, go for the lowest point, lowest time and play (with) by yourself. The achievements unlock after the match ends. Your 360 console should be in good condition before attempting the Uber geek achievement.Read full review
Many reviews out there say that Evolution, which is basically the Xbox 360 game inside the Predator package, is not a whole lot better than the Xbox version of Instincts. Well, I beg to differ. After attenpting to complete the improved Xbox version of Instincts that comes with the 360 game, I found myself growing tired of the repetitive gameplay. Heck, I almost stopped right there. But I had to check out the Evolution story, which was made for the 360. I was immediately releived to see that the gameplay was much smoother than Instincts, the storyline was better, and the graphics were considerably more beautiful. However, don't expect to see anything that pushes the limits of the 360. In fact, aside from the new water effects, I didn't see anything that could not have run on the original Xbox. Still, Crytek has created a really fun game that I recommend for shooter fans who own an Xbox 360.Read full review
At first I wasn't impressed. Good graphics, but game play needed some work. As I played on though, I was hooked. This may be because I am a game junkie or perhaps the game is better than I wanted to give it credit for! It has a decent story line and the levels are sufficient length, not too long not too short. It needs the option to save progress as opposed to the occasional autosave. Controls are decent as far as button layout but the movement of the character is lacking a little, but it's not impossible to get used to fairly quickly. Decent weapons and abilities, though nothing really special. If you are looking for quick achievement points, look elsewhere. You will work for these. No complaints really with this game, all in all it is a worthy FPS. Bottom line; Good looking graphics, stiff player control, good levels with decent challenges, no major problems, definitely worth checking out.Read full review
