This is not Spider-Woman's first appearance, but we do get her origin story. We also see her take on the traditional look that holds true to today. Spider-Woman is so under appreciated. She is a Frankenstein like character, trying to find where she belongs in the world. If your looking for a great marvel character to follow Spider-Woman maybe for you. Her first appearance in Marvel Spotlight #32 is still affordable and her regular series is very easy to find. P.S. long live Burt Reynolds

I knew that purchasing Spider-Woman 1 for $20 wouldn’t get me a mint copy but I didn’t expect to get it the way it came. It came in a thin cardboard envelope with no extra cardboard to secure it from bending. The comic looked like it had been bagged and boarded 20-30 years ago. It was worn at the spine and the interior pages were very yellow from age. It looked like it was sent from a non comic collector. Nonetheless I was disappointed.

Found this listing through a seller I use rather frequently. Listed in a pretty good grade (which you always have to be cautious of either way) and the fact it will probably become a Marvel Key #1 bridging the Bronze and modern age tales of Spider-Woman, I jumped. The story was pretty concise, gives you reason to continue reading and the artwork was Marvel Bronze Age cool. The comic itself arrived in great shape, very close to the grade described (though I haven't had it CGC'd or anything of the sort) and the colors popped off the pages. A good low investment, high reward book with the already scheduled Spider-Woman movie slated to go into production now that Sony and Marvel are sharing the Spidey universe.
Spider- Woman is on my list of #1's that I'm beginning to collect. Nice old school story with excellent art work. A definate must buy for any collector. Love the newsprint paper. Jessica Drew may be in Marvels Cinematic future. Plus it looks wonderful in a Mylar bag. Buy it. Read it. Love it.
