I remember seeing this series back in the early 60's. I've remembered some of these, especially the two that are on this disc. Hold For Gloria Christmas is a wonderful vehicle for Burgess Meredith to display his wild-eyed, off-the-wall acting chops, playing a Village poet who is hell-bent to recover a portfolio of his early poems from a bar owner who paid him for them and has no intention of giving them back. The poet wants to leave them in a post office for a 'dreamgirl', Gloria Christmas, a figment of his imagination. The other 'best' episode on this disc is the Horse Has a Big Head Let Him Worry. It's a memorable excursion of a little, nearly blind boy across New York City. As in all episodes the scenery of NYC is especially fulfilling for those of us who lived there at that time. Two others feature a major role by Robert Duvall in one and another with Gene Hackman in a very minor role. Get this disc! The one negative and the reason for four stars not five is that there is no closed captioning.Read full review
