Project 86's 6th studio album, Rival Factions, pushes the boundaries of the band's sound and audience. At first glance, you might think Project 86 has completely changed their sound. Not true. Fans of their previous work will find plenty to cheer about on "Put Your Lips to the TV", "The Forces of Radio", and "Santurary Hum". The later is intensely catchy, like a refined work that may have appeared on their Truthless Heroes album. Other highlights include the mid-tempo rocker "Pull Me Closer, Violent Dancer" and "Caveman Jam". Really, there's no bad tracks here. Honestly, there's really no so-so tracks either. This is a solid album that screams ingenuity and originality. Any Project fan will appreciate it, although it may be a bit tought at first to swallow, and the band may find themselves with new fans as well. All in all, this album offers the best of hard rock and hooks. Easily their best work to date and perhaps one of the best metal albums in a while.Read full review
Have been a fan for years. This latest album is well written and performance was great. I wish they had left their songs untampered with. Many times a guitar could not be distinguished from a synth, or vice versa. Any, a great album. Still not up to Drawing Black Lines. I guess I like the good ole days. Thanks guys for another great album.
some bands mature too fast and their second album is their best then they die.... Project 86 is a little slow to mature but they still are getting better with each offering. this one is by far the best with a welcome addition to the use of harmonies and better overall song writing. the use of a more electronic sound on several songs break up any monotony on the album as a whole . overall the best yet and I look forward to the next one!
I like listen to it. It is a great cd to have for any rock fan in my opinion. Cd sounds great. New sound is great on here like almost every song on here. This cd is very goooood cd. Once again project 86 makes a great album.
