easy to use and read, and accurate. best if placement is semi-permanent since removing and installing it can be tricky and there is a chance the tuner will fall into the guitar... just be careful that the finish of the soundboard isn't marred by the tuner. haven't had it long enough (1 month) to determine if battery life is good. I use this at home in a quiet room so I don't know if this tuner is good at gigs where other sounds may interfere with tuning. if you have many instruments that need tuning and you want more portability, the headstock tuners are better. I use a snark for that and it's easier and faster than this soundhole tuner to move from one instrument to the next, but for the guitar that I have this tuner on, it's perfect... clip it on and forget about it till you need to tune.Read full review

The good, bright, small but fairly easy to read. The not so good, slow to lock up on tones both to start off with and also when trying to tune a given string. Compared to say a Snark, they are slower and seem to be harder to get in tune with. The upside however is that given the location it would be hard to break as opposed to head stock tuners.

I was looking for a tuner that was inconspicuous and accurate. I tried the Korg Rimpitch and, while it's very good, I like the D'Addario better for it's simplicity. I also like that it takes a readily-available CR2032 battery instead of a not-so-easy-to-find battery. Other than being a little high in price, the only thing I could find that would need improvement would be the way it attaches. I have three Guilds with solid wood tops that seem to be thicker than most of my other guitars. I had to modify the tuner to permanently mount with 3M tape. Not a big deal if you put one in each guitar. It IS a big deal if you only have one of these and alternate between guitars.

I wanted one of these for a while. Sleek, clip on in sound hole, out of the way, wont forget it, its ready to go as soon as you pull your guitar out of the case. Works great but when I tried to tune in a loud open mic, it had a little trouble working and had some sort of error. Only happened once and has work flawlessly since. It also has a nice range to let you know if youre out of tune. Easy turn on and off, I think its 10 min auto shut off.

I would never try to cover up or clutter the look of the beautiful and unique block lettering logo of my Martin D-41. It's a Good Thing. BTW, this tuner does not have a back cover. The battery clips in very well and would never fall out of the tuner. Therefore no back or cover needed. Love the clean and light look.. Wish the Auto-Shut Off is limited to 60 seconds. 10 minutes is way too long time to tune and runs down the battery needlessly. .
