I love this workout. I hate working out, so it's perfect for me in that yoga is low impact, but it really works to not only tone up muscles, but stretch and shape them so you look toned and lean as opposed to having bulky muscle mass. Using your own body weight to tone your muscle as traditional yoga does, when combined with the faster pace set by the MtV genre, you also get a good cardio workout as well, to help burn calories and work up that good, soul cleansing sweat that makes us feel good after working out. The added benefits of Yoga is the spiritual peace that comes with the breathing and then the resting positions as well. I originally bought this DVD about four years ago because I was interested in Yoga and this seemed like a good solution to fit into my busy schedule of having and caring for babies. It was inexpensive as well, and entertaining to kids to watch me do it, and even try it for themselves. Over the years I've gotten better and better so now I'm able to follow the example set on the video for the advanced yogi as apposed to the beginner example provided that I started with; there are three levels in all, beginner, medium, then advanced; and now I actually turn down the soundtrack and speech of the trainer to play my own soundtrack, but use the images to guide me and keep me focused on the faster pace. I wore that first DVD out and actually had to purchase a this one to replace it. So the result is, I have found a program that I, who HATE any form of exercise, have been able to stick to and use three to four times a week, about half an hour each time. It's my only form of real exercise. Even having just delivered my sixth child at the age of 37 a month and a half ago, I'm still fitting into the same clothing I wore before I had children; plus, all my pretty bits and pieces are still where they are supposed to be despite my rapid successions of pregnancies and the cruelties that time and gravity have on a woman's body. BEST OF ALL...The work out leaves me firm, yet still soft and feminine to the look and touch, the yoga aspect leaves me feeling spiritually calm and secure, and the meditation aspect and stretching leaves me so relaxed, that I can de-stress easily in thirty minutes despite being the working mom of NINE beautiful children who I raise in my home. Obviously, I highly recommend MtV Yoga, if you try it, I hope you're able to make it fit into your life as well as it has fit into mine, if you stick with it I think you will be very thankful that you did!!
