This is a funny movie about a man who has been in witness protection for fifteen years. Just a kid at the time, Rick (Mel Gibson) and his friend flew to Mexico for a load of weed and jot caught by two crooked DEA agents. They were forced to fly drugs or go to jail. In a deal gone bad, Rick's friend was murdered. Rick testified against the crooked DEA agents and was granted immunity. He entered the Witness Protection Program, but has been chased and hounded by the crooked agents since. His ex-girlfriend, Marianne (Goldie Hawn), is a Chicago lawyer, and spots him living in Detroit. While trying to find out if he is Jerry, the crooks chasing him show up and blow up the gas station where he was working. Now Rick/Jerry and Marianne are running for their lives with the crooks after them. His only hope is to find his old case officer who is now retired and living in Saint Louis. This is the story of long-lost lovers who cross paths under dire circumstances. This movie has everything you would expect from an 80's/early 90 's action/comedy with the cast it has. My wife has watched this movie 10 times since Santa put it under the tree 2 weeks ago. Lighthearted, bits of humor, and not dripping with curse-word overdose as many in this genre do. This dvd has very little bonus features though.
