Got for my 4 year old grandson and he loves it! I been playing 30+ years, so this is the best cheapest way to see if your young ones may take interest in playing! So I highly recommend this little set up for the price. I wasn’t sure when I ordered this guitar till it came in and I tuned it to standers 440 and stretch the strings good and held tuning ok, but he’s just trashing on it right now. Once he beats on it for a month I will but new strings and set up good and I believe it will serve it purpose great! This is not a good guitar for a 7-10 year old. As a pro player this is a great starter for 4-7 year old! I would buy again!!!!

Its is really for y son to get use to. I know pretty much about setting up a guitar, this one requires some work and still does hold tune. With that said you get what you pay for and my 3yr old can't play anyway. It's just to help him get use to handling a guitar. He likes it. As he progresses we'll have to get him something of better quality .

I didn't expect much for $65 but this electric guitar outfit is very nice. It won't be filling any concert hall with licks from Hendrix but that little amplifier puts out some clear sound. Runs on a 9v battery or wall adapter (Neither are Included) Amp has it's own carry strap, power on/off, volume and tone knobs as well as a blue power on LED. There is also an 'effects boost' button which distorts the sound somewhat. Fun for a while but even my 6 year old liked it better in normal mode. Set also comes with the amp to guitar cable, guitar pick and an extra set of steel strings (a nice touch) The guitar comes pre-strung and not far off key. Go to youtube and search "6 string guitar tuning" for perfect pitch. The fit and finish is very good. The frets are solid nickel, the electronic pickups are even with the strings and the strings hold their notes after tuning quite well. The neck is real sanded hardwood with a matte finish. The black lacquered body has a nice finish as well, no drips or runs in the finish anywhere and is set off nicely with two stainless steel neck strap spindles. The bridge is also stainless steel and is fairly heavy duty for this price range. The neck strap is very basic with no neck padding of any kind but again, no complains allowed in this price range. The final touch is a zippered black poly/canvas bag that holds everything for your child's next gig. (Bag does not hold the amp) I'd probably recommend this for the 5-10 year old set and at $65 it certainly won't break the bank to see if your child will keep at it and follow in Frampton's footsteps! He/she will also be learning with a better quality guitar, not Kmart junk, so they'll get the best start and a 'real feel' for playing and the best odds of further pursuit of the instrument. - ScottRead full review

I don’t know anything about guitars so take this for what it’s worth. My 5yr old wants to be a rockstar and this fits the bill. The guitar is perfect size and the quality surprised me. It appears to be well made. I didn’t try the amp as I purchased a 20w Peavy so he can have the real rock start experience lol. For the price you won’t find anything better or even if equal quality I imagine.

A truss rod is a minimum requirement for a guitar neck. This thing isn't going to stay in tune, and will have permanently horrible action that will make it very difficult to play for children. I didn't expect much at this price, but received even less.
