There's not much to this stretcher. It wasn't wide enough for my 4" wide shoe so I unscrewed one of the longer parts from one stretcher and somehow got it to thread into the 2nd stretcher making a wider tool. After oiling up my shoe and forcing the tool into the shoe until there was good pressure on each side I did get it to widen the shoe. So you could say it works. It's cheap at any rate. No substitute for the old wood stretchers that cobblers used to widen shoes and boots but will get the job done if you don't mind messing with it for a while.

I was very disappointed with this product. It was very hard for me to get it in place in my shoe and difficult to adjust. I ended up making one out of scrap wood that was easier to use and worked better.

They are too small, compared with American women's feet, & the toggle bolts used are awkward to use.

I needed to make my right shoe wider than left. I really forced to expand as if shoe might break. This device stayed very strong. Good buy.
