Perfect Mask for Small Projects
First time use for this masking fluid. I'm using it to mask the ends of fiber optics prior to painting scale models. Just dab the end of toothpick in the liquid and touch the end of the optic. Coats fast, dries quickly and the coloring of the fluid makes it easy to see where its been applied. After painting, just pick the mask off. Has worked like a charm. No issues with drying out or anything as another reviewer has mentioned. It does have an odor that some may find unpleasant but a little ventilation will take care of that.First time use for this masking fluid. On the plus side: I used this liquid masking product for the first time. It was easy to apply and remove. Was surprised to find that it didn't stain the paint (acrylic) under it when I removed it. On the minus side: It did however pick-up and remove some small spots of paint under the masking when I removed the masking. Sealing the paint first would probably fix that. Love this stuff!!
It's so easy to paint super fine detailing with maskol. It runs a little but you can let it sit in a little container for a bit until it thickens.. No relayering necessary but I would recommend doing so if you need it down in deep crevasses etc. It rarely gets stuck and If it does I just use a needle and pull again. It dries fast.. I can even use a small fan to get faster drying times. Be careful you don't scratch your paint underneath so leave a thick raised dot of it where you plan to start pulling up! It pulls off like a rubber band and never brings paint up with it! Amazing!It's so easy to paint super fine detailing with maskol.
