This is my fourth Vortex product, and my first SPARC AR. I have never been disappointed with the company or the products. The SPARC AR is the perfect size and comparable to an AimPoint Micro, at 1/3 the cost. The optic is well-constructed, uses a "normal" battery, and is easy to adjust. It's encased in a rubber cover, which adds to it's already substantial durability. I'm very happy with this purchase. If you're looking for a good red dot optic, you really can't go wrong with the Vortex SPARC AR.

This red dot by Vortex is very high quality, very rugged, very durable but there are several downsides to this optic. Here are a few: It can only mount high on the rail since the battery is located directly below the optic. Its lens covers are awkward and a nuisance to open and maintain out of the way by joining them together. The on/off/brightness buttons are also very awkwardly located and difficult to operate, especially if you mount the optic near the rear sight of a rifle. Lastly, the Vortex Crossfire sells for about the same price or less but is a far better optic to operate, more ergonomic and versatile than the Sparc, pretty much rendering it obsolete, unless the use of a AAA battery is more convenient for the user, which is what the Sparc uses. I'd recommend you skip the Sparc and buy a Crossfire instead.Read full review

this optic is amazing. first off it took no time to zero and it holds zero very well, the dot is really bright even in dead sunlight. the different mount hights was a great bonus, the whole setup is compact and well made with the controls front facing and best of all it takes a common AAA battery found everywhere....LOVE IT

Really like this little optic, seems like a great piece for the money. Initial impressions were nice construction, clever use of the mount for battery (AAA) location, not a ton of stuff to get snagged, easy to use and zero. I used Aimpoints in the Army but wanted to try and use something new (didn't want to be an Aimpoint snob) for one of my basic ARs that is a light duty range weapon. I only have a couple hundred rounds down range using the optic but first impressions are good. I'd recommend the product and will consider more/other Vortex products in the future. Warranty is hard to beat. The only thing I didn't like was the silicone lens caps. I'm not a fan of lens caps, especially soft ones, and don't want them flopping around so I cut them off from the silicone housing cover.

I used this for an airsoft gun, and this is honestly overkill for it! It is so good. Super high quality, you can tell by just touching it, and really solid. The rubber cover for it is useful, and looks good. Awesome high adjustment, love how you can adjust the dot with the caps themselves by turning them over. The AAA battery feature is a huge plus. I bought this to save money overtime, because I don’t have to buy $15 watch batteries to put into it all the time, I can just use Rechargeable AAA’s. There is no apparent parallax at all. I was worried about how small the window would be to look through, but it’s honestly big enough, and I can see through it clearly. The dot is SUPER bright, and you can easily see it with both eyes open. There is a little thing inside the scope to project the dot, but your not gonna see it unless you look at it straight on, and if your hold you gun right in front of your face, like a video game character. When you look through, it just dissipates, and it doesn’t even show. Awesome sight for anything. So far I haven’t noticed anything bad about it at all. I’ll update you if anything worth telling happens, but I don’t expect it, because I can send it in with the warranty as many times as I need to, which is another bonus. AWESOME SIGHTRead full review
