These Omega Seamasters are simply made to perform in every way. They feel very solid on the wrist. Bracelet is superbly made with locking feature and divers extension and solid end links. Watch is chronometer grade automatic with hack, date, and manual wind. Case is solid with helium release valve and screw down crown with beautiful leg design and crown guards. Dial is deep blue with wave design and highly luminous dial and hands. Love the fat minute hand which of course is the most important in a true dive model. This Omega was built to last, look awesome, and perform day in and day out whether looking for starfish or hanging out by the pool or dressing up for a Broadway show! There is no better value in the luxury dive watch line than the Omega Seamaster!

The newer versions with ceramic dials wear better offering better service life, value. The older automatics need service every 6-8 years 400-500 dollars making a used purchase an iffy value proposition at best. Many older models 10-14 years suffer corrosion on the hands. It cost a lot of money for an extra 4 seconds of accuracy per day, When tuned or on the new side stunning - handsome watch.

My first Seamaster bought in 1997 is still going strong. More than 5000 dives as a busy resort instructor and tech diver and mechanic. Worn while servicing repairing, and overhauling boat engines. I wore my first one every day for 20 years. A true tool watch that looks great. My original has never had the case opened and still maintains chrono accuracy after nearly 25 years of real world working abuse. I have just now replaced it with the same year SeaMaster for a shinier lower mileage daily wearer so that my (in my opinion) legendary well worn watch less often. I also own other dive watches including a Rolex 1680 Red Submariner and though I love the watch as it has also served me well the Omega SeaMaster Pro 300 Meter 2538.80 has proven to be the better dive industry watch for taking a serious beating and continuing to run flawlessly requiring no maintenance even after 25 years of use. Your mileage may vary but I doubt you will put your watch through more abuse than I have mine. Alexander Paul. Proud owner of both Omega and Rolex watches…Read full review

The design of this watch was exactly what Omega needed in the 90's to rebuild the brand and give the submariner a true contender (with the only exception being Blancplain). It redefined Omega as a brand culture with the marketing of the 007 Bond films and steaking a place at the diver's watch table. It is durable, accurate, comfortable, stylish, and best of all, a little piece of Omega history.

I know it is a matter of opinion and debate, but I think the blue face, large size 300m auto is the best watch on the planet. Top level swiss quality without paying for the name Rolex. I have had mine for 15 years, bought it used. I have had it serviced once. Keeps excellent time, you can wear it with jeans and not look like you are trying for attention, or a suit in any boardroom. I wear mine snorkeling and scuba diving too. It has been banged against rocks and coral in multiple oceans, covered in "gunk" from spearfishing, but still looks great out to dinner that night after I wash up.
