The Epson Picture Mate works very well for a small photo printer. However the software does not work with windows 7 or newer versions and the Epson website does not have an updated download for buyer to use. you must rely on your computer to figure out how to run this product which has been trouble for me. The printer works as a stand alone unit also, so you can connect your camera or insert your memory card and pick individual or all pictures to print. Printing seems quick although noisy and the pictures come out looking great.

As a "die hard" HP fan, I was hesitant to try this printer, but after reading several favorable reviews I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed! You will love the great quality out of the box, and this is the most affordable way to produce your own photo lab quality prints right in your own home. No ink cartridges to replace, as this printer uses one cartridge for all 6 colors, and for $29.99 you get a cartridge and 100 sheets of 4x6 paper! This is an incredible value when compared to the other solutions offered by HP. The quality on most of the prints is as good as a lab could produce, and they are water and smudge resistant right off the tray! I did notice that when I compared the similiar prints to those produced on my HP 7360 the colors didn't seem as vibrant or didn't jump off the page, but overall quality was great! Highly recommended!Read full review
Once I got it working it is so easy to operate, just tell it what you want and you get a real nice picture, just what I was expecting from the pictureMate printer, my friend has had one for years and I have seen hers print pictures, and I was always envious of the quality of those 4xs' and have wanted one of my own, so now that I have one there are no limits to what I am going to do, again so easy , with her experience , since she took a class on photography, she knows the ins and outs, lucky me, we have the deluxe and plain picturemate love them both,,,,
The Epson PictureMate Deluxe is extremely easy to use. As an 18-yr IT professional, I've seen my share of printers. I bought this printer in October and have been very pleased with it. The photos it produces will not smudge and are indistinguishable from photos you get from a lab. The user interface is above average and guides you through most features without having to read through a long user guide. We have used it for wallet size and 4"x6" photos. There are several visual photo enhancing effects built-in. I highly recommend this product. Pros: The media kit includes paper and toner together. You don't have to guess when to replace the toner. When the paper is gone, you buy another kit. There is a single toner cartridge. Not 4 different colored inks. You do not need it connected to your PC. Feed the media and print. It has a nice, long power cord, so you can find a comfortable place to work. Visual effects and borders built in. The preview screen is very bright. Professional quality borderless prints. Cons: The media kit that comes with the printer contains only 12-15 sheets of paper. Make sure you buy a print pack. The preview screen is small. The television commercials show this printer working much faster than it actually prints. Be patient when loading a new toner cartridge. It charges the toner for several minutes.Read full review
I wanted a small printer to be able to print one at a time beside a scrapbook project, but not enough to pay full price for the newer ones with bigger screens. It's fun and easy to use, less complicated than going through print menus on your computer. Only thing to keep in mind is this older version doesn't accept Micro Sd cards. But you can save your photos to a usb flash drive and hook it up that way. Epson printers are the best for longevity which was important to me to extend the life of the scrapbooks. the print packs are also roughly 27 cents a 4x6 vs. HP's 50 cents. Epson offers a money back deal if your print pack doesn't produce 100 prints. I've also read that you need to print often with this so the nozzles don't dry up and you end up having to do nozzle cleaning which eats up ink. I had this issue with my Epson printer from 2002, and it looks like your printer broke, but you have to do the nozzle cleaning function MULTIPLE TIMES. Maybe 4 or 6 until it gets better. I'll probably have just print a photo every other day to keep it running well.Read full review
