The Cartoon Network's Halloween Vol. 3 DVD is a hoot! A prime example of the best CN Shows shown on the cable/satellite network -- when the folks at CN concentrated on CARTOONS (and not on Live action or Teen-based "empty" animation.) This collection of 6 series/episodes is definitely aimed for the young AND older family members. Featured on the DVD -- The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy ("The Bubble with Billy"); Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends ("Bloooo"); The Life and Times of Juniper Lee (It's The Great Pumpkin, Juniper Lee"); Ed, Edd, and Eddy ("Don't Rain On My Ed"); Codename Kids Next Door ("Operation: J.E.W.E.L.S."); and The Powerpuff Girls ("Candy's Dandy".) Yep, you can see the episodes either invoke the spirit of Halloween, or pays homage to the glory of gum and candy. My favorite reason I bought this Cartoon Network DVD is primarily for the Billy and Mandy episode. (This, as the other shows on the DVD,is in part,because the shows are released without any on-screen banner ads.When these episodes aired in the mid-2000 decade, such ads "ruined" the experience, in my opinion.) If you have never seen any or all of these episodes -- you're in for a treat that's good at any time of the year, for the whole family. Much of the humor is fresh, (or just darn silly). And the animation /work of these episodes should make replaying the dvd from time to time a great way to enjoy classic modern cartoons with a flair for the fantastic and funny bone. So get the DVD!
