I use this with my iPhone 6s, Ipro lens kit (need separate/ cheap adapter screw (if not using other extension arm / hot shoe mount) and rode sc4 cable to match iPhone audio jack) works great! Just remember to turn it off and have spare batteries, just in case! I use it with filmic pro app so you can visually see the audio input adjust camera exposure, white balance, built-in flash light for video etc. Need dead cat? Get the rode one (generic ones just not as good). Get a an inexpensive boom kit and longer cable for distance and film like a pro! (well... almost)

This microphone is great especially with the +20db boost option. I also bought the dead cat wind cover to go with it. Rode is a name brand in the video and audio recording industry that is known for its quality. I tested it recording a thunderstorm and the audio was impressive.. Light weight so it won't be able to tell it is on your camera or camcorder. I needed this at thanksgiving this year recording each person telling what they were thankful for. It will not pick up on sounds from the left and right while recording your subject. A little pricey but worth every penny if your budget will allow.

After reading so many reviews about this Mic and watching so many videos on YouTube about the Rode Video Mic Pro, I bought it and am totally impressed with the quality sound this Mic gives. Very clear professional sound. Using it with Canon 70D. Awesome sound. Would recommend this Mic to anyone. What a Mic!!

I've spent years lugging around expensive audio gear to capture dialog. The Rode Video Mic Pro Rycote is the simplest solution for acceptable audio - at an affordable price. The sound is good. Compared to a Schoeps CMC6 or a Sennheiser 416, the sound is less focused but pleasing. The ability to switch on +20dB eliminates the need for expensive preamps, at least for me. I try to carry most of my equipment in a backpack so weight is a major consideration. If you're using a DSLR this should be a go-to for many setups. Get the mic close to the talent for best results.

This mic really picks up some great sound but my only gripe is the suspention system, its broken on me already after about 4 months, its a pretty easy fix with a good 2 part epoxy.
