Great for the overwhelmed fiancee
If you are at the end of your rope with "wedding planning", this one's for you. I was really struggling with my wedding. I had dreamed of all these wonderful things that must make a wedding, a wedding. But my budget is limited. I thought about pushing back the wedding ANOTHER year to save the money this would obviously require. Then I found this book. It was like someone in the wedding industry was saying, "it's okay, you really don't need doves at the ceremony," instead of trying to sell me on even more sh*t. Meg Greene lays out wedding tradition, fact and myth. Think you need favors? Nope, not actually a tradition. She collected stories from real brides about their ceremonies and there was one common thread: your wedding will be perfect if you have chosen the right people to surround you. (Or hey, maybe you didn't and that's cool too because you married the person you love!) This book might have saved my wedding, and my fiancee's sanity. It is extremely inclusive of different types of weddings, cultures, even orientations. I sincerely want to buy this book and force it into the hands of every engaged person I encounter.Read full review
