I had not used a radar detector for years. Recently, I drug out one of my old ones and hooked it up. It was "falsing" constantly, probably due to the proliferation of cell phones and other electronics nowadays. The Whistler was very inexpensive and frankly, I doubted it would be worth messing with. I got a surprise. On my first trip with it from Wichita to Garden City and back, it gave very few false signals and twice found troopers I would have missed. I drive for the American Red Cross and I don't speed that much, but I still like to know where the "boys" are working or when they're coming at me. It does a nice job, especially considering the cost. The buzzer is not loud or intrusive and does have a volume control. If you were intending to use this unit on a motorcycle, it would not be loud enough to be heard over all the other ambient noise. The bracket is simple, with two suction cups to affix to the windshield glass and the metal bracket can be bent slightly to adjust for windshield angle.Read full review

This is a good radar detector for the money. Decent range, Beep with no voice alerts. Sounds cheap (tinny). Basic radar detector, Dont spend a lot on this unit.

It does what it’s supposed to! It picks up all the radar signals. Just a little difficult to know what signal you’re picking up sometimes! I’ve only had it for a week so hopefully the more I use it, the more I’ll be able to decipher what kinds of signals I’m getting!

This picks up chp, and an occasional cell tower, and even other radar detectors. It has notified me of several oncoming chp cruisers. It works really well. Great buy, one of my best eBay purchases ever.
