The problem with this product is that if you lower the front sight-post, all of a sudden the unit loses its ability to fold flat. At that point, the only way to get it to fold flat again is to raise the front sight-post back up -- which naturally means that your sights are no longer accurate. I guess that if you never need to lower the front sight, or if you're content never to fold the unit flat, then this product would be okay. Basically, it didn't work with my application (AR-10 with 15" rail).

You have to make SURE the front rail is NOT mounted on your gas block. If it is it may be lower than your rear rail. And you can't use these. My Gpms Panther was not. I wasted 300 rnds and 3 hour trying to site in my rifle until I notice that the rails were not the same height. I think this should have been put in the description.

I bought one set as a trial. The quality and utility of the product is so good I bought another and will continue to buy them for each build that requires such an item. I have bought and used other 'equivalent' products only to be disappointed. I now have these sights on two of my personal ARs and will recommend them to any of my associates who acquire ARs. Anyone desiring folding sights for an AR should try these sights. Just be sure that your rear and front rails are the SAME PLANE. If in doubt, lay a long straight-edge flush on the receiver rail and see if there's a gap between the straight-edge and the front rail or if the two surfaces are the same height. Also if you are mounting the front on a gas block rather than a handguard rail, make sure you are buying a steel or aluminum bodied front sight (like this one) and NOT POLYMER. The gas block gets hella hot and will melt a polymer or other plastic front sight!Read full review
