I used Cleancaf to clean my Bona Vita drip coffee maker. It was easy to use, and it cleaned the machine quite well. I saw evidence of its effectiveness even after the second brewing cycle with fresh water. I brewed up a pot of coffee today in the clean coffee maker, and it was great!

I have a Mr Coffee 10 cup system with the carafe pot. The clean light came on a few months ago but as I only make a pot of coffee two times a week, I didn't worry about it. I bought this product after doing a lot of research on the web from people that reviewed this against other brands and this one seemed to be the one most people liked. I bought the 3 pack figuring I would have enough for maybe 2 cleanings. I did the first package as instructed but the light remained on after the cycles were done so I did a 2nd package and after the cycles were done the light went out for about 10 minutes. When I finished the rinse / refresh cycles, I made a pot of coffee and in the middle of the brewing process, the clean light came back on again. After emptying the coffee into another carafe, I ran the last package through and the light is still on. So I turned off the machine, unplugged it for a few hours and after plugging it back in, the light was off. So, I brewed another pot and now the light is back on. So I still don't know if its the pot or the cleaner. I think I'll just buy another coffee maker. Hope this helps.Read full review

and your espresso machine will be good to you. I have been using Cleancaf on a monthly basis for the past 15 or so years to clean and descale a stand-alone espresso machine. The machine is not plumbed in. It has an internal water canister which must be filled manually when low. I fill the canister with water from a gravity water filter with ceramic water filter elements because the water supplied by our rural co-op is safe to drink but tastes lousy. Cleancaf, used in combination with the filtered water, has not only made it possible for me to brew excellent cups of espresso but to also keep the pump and tank in the espresso machine from becoming clogged with sedimentary deposits too small to be filtered by my water filter.

Sarasota water is overchlorinated and calcium loaded. Product is ok but could be improved by upping the acidity. Jlg

Great coffee is the result of making sure every component is right all the time. Most important, beans have to be really fresh and freshly-roasted. (Most of what you find on store shelves is not). You need a pump-driven machine, such as the Technivorm that does not overheat the water. (Sorry to say, but cheaper steam-driven drip machines scorch the grounds because the water has to be vaporized for the machine to work!) Water should be filtered. Finally, your machine must be clean. Even if everything else is right, the build-up of stale coffee residue over many uses can bring it down. Cleancaf does a good job because it has detergent that cleans the machine internally as well as the tank, the brewing basket, and the carafe. That makes a taste difference with any machine.
