I've watched the Mike Hermans, Jay Leonard J, and ProGuitarShop demos of this pedal and have been wanting to downsize my pedalboard, hoping this would help me. I bought a B stock version which has a minor paint flaw on one side of the pedal, where it isn't even seen. That saved me $50, so I couldn't pass it up. Every feature and function of this pedal is fantastic The Rotary feature sounds as good as any I've heard, and when I plug in my Roland EV5 expression pedal, I can adjust the rotation speed, you can even here a realistic lag in speed up and braking. This is a fantastic replacement for a Chorus or Phaser pedal. Not the same sounds, but by playing with the depth and speed, this will do the trick. The Univibe feature also sounds great. This is also a great replacement for a chorus or even a tremolo pedal. It sounds great. Play with the depth, rate and octave to get a wide variety of useful sounds. The Wah feature, without an expression pedal can be used as an 'auto wah', or a 'harmonic wah' which sort of combines an auto wah with a fixed, but adjustable, rate sweep. Adding an expression pedal turns this into a great sounding wahwah pedal. The fuzz is an excellent sounding fuzz with enough mid-range to be heard in a mix. It sounds great in conjunction with the other onboard effects. I use an external eq anyway to cut or boost midrange for rhythm or solo use. The Octave feature works sort of like a micro POG when using the way or vibe settings and allows you to blend in octave up, OR octave down sounds. You can control how much of the octave is in the mix via a dedicated pot. You can turn the vibe depth all the way down to disable the vibe if you just want the octave up or down. This pedal is going to help me slim down my pedalboard because It will replace my chorus, tremolo, phaser and wah, and fuzz pedals. I will add my expression pedal, but this will serve as my wah pedal, as well as will control the rotary, and vibe speeds. So, my board will be smaller, but more functional. I can't wait to gig with it.Read full review

I wanted all of the effects this unit offers; Rotary, Vibe, 3 variations of Wah, a Octave Up or Down that could be mixed in, and a Fuzz that isn't over the top unless you want it to be. I wasn't sure if Rotary sound from a mono effect would be what I wanted, but it sounds like it should, very musical. All of the FX play well together. The Fuzz is adjustable in depth, so you can dial in just what you need. This is pitched as a Jimi Hendrix influenced unit, and you can definitely get those sounds, but it has the wiggle room to dial in your own sounds as well. Very well thought out, useful control parameters, and the expression pedal works without setting a slew of esoteric control change parameters. Keeley pedals are more intuitively musical thanh many other companies products.

Love the Monterey Fuzz! It's incredibly versatile in terms of the different sounds etc. I have been using it both as a texural or layered tool and also just as a straight fuzz sound. Very durable, sturdy and attractive pedal.

The pedal needs a power adapter which was not specified in description. Very disappointed there was no mention in the posting. Though the pedal does not work without one, plus it doesn’t have a better option.
