As a child from the 90's generation, its hard to explain to kids now a days how cartoons have changed drastically. I came from an era where cartoons where something the whole family could enjoy, Ren and Stimpy being the best example of that. Its the perfect combination of adult problems set in a world meant for children to understand. I am now 21 years old, and its truly amazing rewatching the first two seasons, and realizing how much you have learned from it growing up. Their where so many jokes and references to adult humor that only i could understand at this age, rather than a little kid, yet i still love the show now as much as i did back than, if not more so. It is also interesting to know that this was the first cartoon that allowed the animators full control over their project unlike Warner Bro's or Paramount during the golden age of cartoons. If it weren't for John K getting to write and animate his own show, we probably wouldn't of ended up with shows like Rocko's Modern Life, South Park, Beavis and Butthead, even Spongebob which had most of the animators from Ren and Stimpy working on the project. It was very sad to see this show go down hill after John K had left due nickelodeon terminating his contract and offering him a job as a consultant on the show under a new studio, which he refused because he did not want to become a sell out. The rest of the team had stayed and later, most of them went on to work on Spongebob during its hay day. This review was not meant to be about this product, but what this show means to kids from are generation. For me, it has inspired me to become a musician and to be different with my tunes and try to stray away from the norm. I hope that one day, when people from my generation start to have kids of their own, that they will show them this show or other shows like it and keep the history of animation relative in this day and age with hopes to inspire kids to be different and proud of it!Read full review
ren and stimpy is a super classic cartoon that is far out funny,this is the type of cartoon that you play for children or adults,for adults it would be fun to watch if you have one person over or a group of friends it would be something to remember,i got this dvd set because me and my eleven year old son watched the episode called the fan club,he was in tears when ren was reading the fan mail and relplying to them,i thought this was crazy enough to make me want to buy more episodes to have fun.

There’s been nothing like it since the early 90’s. If your kids are 6+ years old they will love it. If you have a warped sense of humor you will also love it. If you love animation and expressions, unique soundtracks and sound effects you will love it. This cartoon has everything and it’s still no surprise why it’s classic.

The animation is one of a kind! I haven't seen anything that comes close to it besides maybe Sponge Bob Square pants and it doesn't have the edge that Ren and Stimpy has. What makes it especially endearing is the little spoof commercials that they put into the mix!

This is such an amazing dvd! I actually started watching it when I met the creator, Bob camp at a comic con. Now, I can't stop watching it. I love how I'm so young(12 lol not too young) and so many adults like this show. The holder for the DVDs was kinda scratched up a little bit but the DVDs had no scratches! I hope I helped someone to decide if they should by this or not. For my opinion, it's absolutely amazing!!!!!! Happy Happy Joy Joy!!!!!!!!!!!
