I learned the hard way it's not sensible to try saving money by buying cheap lens filters, particularly with something like a circular polarizer (CPL). CPL filters are difficult to manufacture properly. Buy a cheap one, and you will get blurry, double images used on long lenses. With a cheap CPL, my long lens couldn't autofocus, and even with manual focus, I got terrible results. The same filter even gave poor results on short lenses. When my B+W CPL arrived, I fitted it to my longest lens (with extenders), and the softening it produced was barely noticeable compared to the same lens without. This is excellent! This is not a cheap filter, but well worth the money.

I got it because it was a polarizer. It doesn't polarize at all from what I've seen. No difference that I could see in the shots that I took with it and without it. Rotated it every which way to see if it worked better at a different angle. nothing. Oh well, I guess I have a lens protector for now.

It fits great to all my 77 mm lenses, the glass is beautiful and flawless, it does what it should. It feels much better than a Hoya CPL 82 I own.

In the past when I purchased my first DSLR with Kit lenses, I also purchase some inexpensive UV and CPL filters. At the beginning I felt they were fine, what filter could be worth $100+, right? As I've upgraded and done some side-by-side tests, I found that it's critical to get the best Lenses and put the best Filters on that you can afford. Obviously "Afford' is the operative word here and I'm certain there are plenty of viable options. In my opinion the B+W XS-Pro Kaesemann HT CPL and UV filters are superb among filters.

It works as promissed! Nothing to complain except perahps being a little hard to remove from the lenses. It's a very good filter and it does work! Don't expect exceptional miracles, for it only works with certain light conditions. It balances the photos pretty well by eliminating not direct reflexions, balancing colors and contrast and the best part it helps to control that excessive shine on highlights. Absolutely recomended!!!
