I can't express how awesome it is to upgrade from a 5" screen to this monster. This phone is beautiful, bright, and fast. My old phone had 8GB of on-board storage, and after you account for Android, I only had about 4GB left to install apps. I was constantly running out of space. This phone touts 16GB of space, and the user is left with over 8GB of space to install apps, plus there's an SD card slot, which is where I keep all my music and photos. The phone is meant for the cell carrier that is branded on the back, but once the phone has been used with that carrier for six months, that company will provide an "unlock code" to allow the phone to be used on any other GSM networks. I only mention this because I am in fact using this with a carrier other than the brand on the phone, and it works great. I am able to get 4G LTE in places my old phone could only get E. The customized Android UI is very beautiful out of the box, and it comes with a theme app that let's you customize it further. This is hands-down the best phone I have ever owned. I love this phone and I highly recommend it. Read full review

China-based Huawei is expanding its U.S. footprint with the Huawei Ascend, an Android 2.1 phone now selling at Cricket Wireless and MetroPCS. Its $120 price tag may seem steep for the more entry-level specs, but it's a fair price for a contract-free phone, as those are typically pricier than their on-contract counterparts. For more visual flair, MetroPCS also carries the Tapout version of the Ascend, a special edition that caters to devotees of the Tapout lifestyle brand. The Ascend is a decent starter smartphone package. The attractive handset has a 3.5-inch HVGA touch screen and nice build quality, and it supports 3G and Wi-Fi. Yet there are a few gaps in the feature set that you'll have to overlook.

Excellent value phone! Perhaps the most bang for your buck phone anywhere! But, you have to pay a terrible price to have so much hardware for so little money... this phone's memory is literally filled with so much horrendous non-delectable bloatware that it is slowed to a crawl when it doesn't have to be. Otherwise, not a bad phone if you can live with the stated condition.
