A budget MLC SSD from a couple of years ago, but fantastic in speed in reliability. It's not the fastest out there, but it's consistent and available for the same price as many TLC drives which are slower on average. Newer TLC drives sometimes have faster burst speeds, but the MX100 doesn't have the sustained write limitations the newer TLC drives do. This difference is even more noticeable on smaller variants, ie 256GB and under. MLC memory is inherently longer lasting as well. If you can get these drives at a good price, they are a fantastic computing investment!

works great, Love the speed on start up and shutdown. so far no glitches. It fit perfectly in my laptop, very easy install even for me.., So I give this a "Thumbs Up" . I am very pleased.. I would not think twice before buying another one like this, except I would get a larger HD, maybe a 500 GB ..

I bought this hard drive as a place to store my games that I download from Steam. I had a 256 GB Samsung SSD as my main hard drive, but as a gamer I was writing, removing, reinstalling, and swapping out files left and right to keep my main drive from overfilling. This second SSD has been a godsend as now I can keep quite a few of my favorite games installed so I can go back to them when the mood strikes. The SSD installed right away, was a good price, and has given me no issues. I recommend this to anyone looking to expand their storage, or to upgrade to a faster PC experience from a spinning disc. 60 bucks for a 256GB SSD is a no-brainer. As a side note: the SSD does not come with a SATA cable, so be aware you will need one before mounting this drive.

5 out of 5 eggs Very nice drive Pros: Super fast. I installed this in an older Dell desktop with 3GB SATA. Here are the Crystal Disk Mark results: Sequential Read : 220.405 MB/s Sequential Write : 253.371 MB/s Random Read 512KB : 219.069 MB/s Random Write 512KB : 236.064 MB/s Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 23.227 MB/s [ 5670.5 IOPS] Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 41.545 MB/s [ 10142.7 IOPS] Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 27.136 MB/s [ 6624.9 IOPS] Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 55.833 MB/s [ 13631.2 IOPS] Pretty respectable for an older PC, and significantly faster than the WD Blue that was installed before. Windows Experience Index for boot drive increased from 5.9 to 7.4. The SSD included a downloadable LE version of Acronis True Image 2014, which is mostly an ad for buying the full version. It will help you migrate to the new drive, but that's about all. Acronis OEM is basically the same as Macrium Reflect Free, but I like Macrium better. Nice touch: the SSD comes with a spacer in the box, for laptop carriers that need the larger size. Didn't need it for this PC, but I was impressed that the spacer was included. Cons: NONERead full review
