Whether or not you will enjoy Arcane Heart depends on why you buy and play video games in the first place. If you are looking for a deep combat system, amazing graphics, and a great story line, then Arcana Heart might not be for you. If like me you appreciate the art and anime design of a typical Atlus game, and search out games that define an era in gaming then Arcane Heart is a must have for your collection. Don't misunderstand, I love playing Arcane Heart. The all female line up is full of humor, great art work, and amazing 2-D scenes. It's just that it is what it is, a 2-D fighter that doesn't even try to take itself seriously. Arcana Heart is exactly an arcade hit from Japan minus the coin slot that you can play on your PS2, and that's it. I love it for what it is, and I advise anyone to pick it up before it disappears.Read full review
Old school fighting game with new school 2-D visuals. Character designs are very cute and also cool. The fighting is over the top with easy to learn but hard to master moves. On the down side, the story is a little corny and the difficulty can be really hard for new comers to the fighting genra. I have the difficulty on the lowest setting and the CPU players fight harder than on most 3-D fighting games I have. All in all, it's a very fun and enjoyable fighter. Just make sure to spend some time in training mode before going into story mode or arcade mode. Thanks and have a nice day!
I mean, the game plays like a generic, fun 2D fighter... but as a collector's item, it's definitely a very cheap, pretty shelf trophy to just have. The characters in the game are cute and say cute things, the game-play feels fluid (the series is actually well-known), and the standards it holds for itself being a PS2 game are good. So, should you buy this for $10 over a newer Steam game that's on sale for $10? Not really... but then again, why are you looking at it at all with that mentality? Worth it for what it is. Also Atlus. It has Atlus on the cover.

This game is fun to play. The characters are very mobile. The character designs are great. The book is enough to get going at playing. Good fighting moves and abilities are well done with great explosions. The control is great too. I am a beginner, but could have lots of fun with it. Well worth the cost.
I bought it because I heard from some people that it was a pretty good fighter to play with some friends. It's not as good as Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core, or maybe Street Fighter III and King of Fighters XI, but it is still pretty fun to play around with. It's got pretty decent graphics for a PS2 fighter. The controls are responsive and easy to get used to. I would recommend it.
