The Bard's tale came 4 days early, it was exactly as described, and it plays like new. Thank you so much for the game. Best place go buy from to get a truly honest and reliable game. Thank you again!

This is one of those addicting plays and even though the game play is old school the story line keeps you moving. Highly recommended.

This is a simplified, easier to play version of the first game in the original popular Bard's Tale game series from early home computers of the 80's. Considering the date of release and how much has been changed in the graphics, along with the fact that it has less classes and dungeons (for a more casual approach), this can be seen as console remake of the original game. The game clearly went to a Japanese company and then came back to the US as a sort of "reverse import". This is obvious in the graphics that have a sort of Anime look to them. Games like Bard's Tale and more importantly Wizardry were (and continue to be) very popular as cult niche of gaming in Japan, and the Bard's Tale NES "remake" here is a testament to that. The Bard's Tale II even came out in 1992 for the Japanese market only. If you have an NES or purchase an inexpensive Famiclone system like the FC Toploader, you will find this one worth playing if you ever enjoyed the thrill of creating your own unique party of characters. Navigation of menus and gameplay in general is much more accessible than the old home computer versions, and the music is not bad either. Manuals, tips and maps for the NES version can be found online.Read full review
Not what I remembered from the Commodore 64 days. This game is ok, butthe graphics are not as good, and the game play actually seems to be slower, go figure.
