My 4 year old loves hockey but the games for the Playstation are too hard for him to do by himself. I saw this game while looking at other DS games and thought he might like it. Well, he loves it and it is so easy for him. He opened it, put the card into the machine and started playing. It is great to see a game that a four year old play that is not violent in any way and keeps his interest. There are levels of play so someone older can make it harder for themselves and more challenging. He picks his own team and has a lot of fun! Anyone with small kids who want a game that they can play by themselves have got to get this game!!
My 7 year old Mite Hockey player is hockey obsessed. Everything hockey all the time so we had to find a hockey game for his DS. He plays this constantly... It is an older game on an older system so don't expect super hi def graphics. Just enjoy it for what it is, a cheap fun game.

This game is all its cracked up to be. Its really the only decent hockey option for the DS. My seven year old 1st grader really loves it. Make sure your kid can read unless you want to spend all day telling him what the prompts say and how to set up each time. Other than the reading part, its real easy to use with lots of options on it that are easy to understand. The majority of his time is spent on the hockey game and diddykong racing when he's using the DS.
My son hasn't put it down since he received it in the mail. He loves the game.He loves the graphics on it and that it is a step up from the games he already has on his old gameboy sp. This is the only hockey game as far as i know made for the DS. My son lives for hockey! We bought it because it was the only one made for his DS system. Otherwise we would buy others.
My 6 year old son loves backyard hockey he plays it endlessly.
