This version of Bomberman is probably the best one. It matches the previous game in all aspects accept it allows for five players and there are more power ups that allow for different gaming, and it's levels are in an isometric view. It's customizable too. You can pick which power ups to play with in any given level(ten total). The characters are pretty cool, but you're still allowed to pick the classic bomberman characters(colors, that is). If you're familiar with the series, the one player story game is pretty weak. That could have just been a tutorial for noobies who would move on to the multiplayer side of it, where the fun begins. A word of caution. If you're purchasing this game for your PS2 platform, check the owner's manual or www.playstation.com to see which type of multi-tap your playstation uses. I bought the wrong one and didn't open it until I invited my friends over, and I got burned, even though the package said it worked with all types of PS2's. It just didn't work. I was able to find an instruction manual for the game online. I don't remember which site I found it on, but I'm sure it had the word "manual" on it's title, so, happy hunting. I might also mention it's a fun game for your girlfriend too. She might not like first person shooters or RPG's that you enjoy taking hours playing(because they rock and the graphics are awesome), so remember that if you get her started on this one, she might be inclined to try out your Red Faction 2 and possibly move on to bigger and better things. Oh, and if Sony's reading this, please make an upgraded version(without the isometric view), with an online capability and more levels. What would really be cool is if you made it so users could design their own levels too. Do it. Spend some money on it. And make more games my girlfriend likes.Read full review

I am a huge fan of bomberman games but this particular one missed the boat a bit. The gameplay is slower than other bomberman games and the isometric view which works so well for the bomberman games has been altered for the worse. Instead of the generic isometric view the camera has been rotated thirty degrees or so, which makes precise movements and the ability to see bombs more difficult. Overall I feel that this game was intended to be the next step for bomberman and fell short of the mark. If you are looking for a great bomberman game for the playstation I recommend Bomberman Party. Or if you are looking for the best bomberman game out there go for Saturn Bomberman. Poor camera angles and sluggish gameplay make this bomberman one of the least entertaining I have played.

I love it as for years I tried to find it but never could until ebay! It is a great multiplayer game and has up to a five player mode.
