About this product
Product Information
Fans both old and new can play through favorite moments of the historic manga and anime series in Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans. The interactive adventure plays like a console-style role-playing game, with turn-based combat and small-squad strategy. Choosing from a handful of main characters, players can put together their own three-member teams to lead through the story. They'll need to use teamwork and powerful Ki attacks, both in battle and to overcome game world obstacles. As characters progress through the plot, they gain experience and become stronger, with new and more powerful attacks and special abilities. In style and theme, the game fits in with a 20th anniversary retelling of the Dragon Ball Z story. It includes several side-quests and alternate plotlines, allowing hardcore fans to explore familiar tales from new perspectives, and giving newcomers to the series a broader view of the Dragon Ball universe. Beginning at the 23rd World Tournament, in which Goku defeats Piccolo, the game's main campaign follows the plot of the anime and manga series, through Vegeta's saga in the Saiyan storyline.

First of all, if you're not a fan of Dragon Ball Z then this may be too simple of an RPG for you. It has a style of gameplay that is classic to all JPRG titles, but with new mechanics to keep you coming back.
I personally liked the "sparking" team finishers, the upgradable abilities and the story itself. It has a good depth for the game play while also keep a fun storyline.
Keep in mind this is the Saiyan invasion story that we all came to love when DBZ was originally released. It does have a lot of side stories that may seem unnecessary, but to me it kept the story from finishing too quickly. It doesn't stay 100 percent true to the original play of events of the original story because of the random story fillers.
If you're looking for a fun, but not too in depth RPG featuring one of your most favorite anime characters then this is the game for you.
It's easy to pick up where you left off and the character attribute development will keep you entertained.
Totally recommend it.Read full review
Definitely a buy for the Dragon Ball Z fan whose not expecting a Final Fan
Thanks Finally is what I was thinking when I saw this was coming out, a Dragon Ball Z RPG. Bottom line if you are expecting a epic like Final Fantasy you'll be disappointed but game does delivery on it's promise as a standard RPG with Thankfully focus on all characters and not just Goku. Everything music and graphics are either Average or above average. Definitely a buy for the Dragon Ball Z fan whose not expecting a Final Fantasy style epic.
I purchased this product in hopes of obtaining a decent rpg experience from the DBZ franchise aside from the Legacy of Goku series.I am not disappointed with my purchase as this game offers a wide variety of characters each with unique stats and attacks to make use of in combat, there is also plenty of different stats to upgrade when you acquire enough points.Should the game start feeling too easy for you,you have the option of doing single battles, with while not frustrating, but challenging enemies and bosses usually at the end of each chapter. The story begins during everyone's training for the last tournament in DragonBall which is the fight between Goku and Piccollo, and ends at Vegeta with several events that actually feel like sidequests inbetween. That is not bad however, considering the game is already pretty short.A shame this game did not get a sequel, seeing how the ending is left at a cliffhanger.Read full review
I am a huge Dragon Ball Z fan so when i say that a rpg had been made for the ds i had to get myself a copy. Attack of the Saiyans is a typical rpg notting is being reinvented but still lots of fun. Great to see that the game doesn't concentrate around Goku but all charters have their own respective parts. All in all this game is not perfect but you will still find yourself firmly engaged in its game play will provide many hours of mindless fun what else is to be expected from a video game.
