One of the ONLY(official) video games Don Bluth the master animator himself has ever developed and mass produced for arcades and consoles alike, he apparently also made Dragons Lair for the DS, a game that isn't so much gameplay as a challenge in ones reflexes and patience. As Dirk The Daring, you are on a quest in a goose-bumps like scary castle to whisk away a HOT princess. face down goo-monsters, traps, dragons, hentai tentacle monsters and other insurmountable odds. I haven't been able to progress far enough - hell I wouldn't have been able to play this game AT ALL when I was little, and that's just me, because of the level of effort and patience this game takes. its EVERYTHING like the arcade, except for needing endless quarters, and its not so simplistically straight forward as its sequel(not ported for the DS sadly) you DONT get the golden-directional shine near as much as you need, and death dying and pain is sure to follow for the main hero unless your a god with godlike reflexes, theres just one point I haven't overcome yet, and though ive conquered some of the hardest games and their bosses ever, this is yet another game that makes you question in the back of your mind if youl ever be able to beat this particular game. Have no expectations with beating this game, and you wont feel any hurt when one of many deaths slays your character.. this is DRAGONS LAAAIIRHAHAHahahahahahaaa..Read full review

I wanted to get this game because I have always been a huge fan of the original 1983 arcade game. Over the years, I have acquired many different versions of the game and this one really interested me because of its' portability aspect. It is literally like having the arcade machine in the palm of your hands. An excellent way of practicing, playing, and enjoying Dragon's Lair on the go. The Nintendo DS cartridge is only available in Canada, which makes getting it a little complicated, but despite this inconvenience, I highly recommend it to any fans of the arcade game.
Really fun game at a reasonable price. Would recommend to anyone.

Better than I expected, brings back old memories, even better than the coin-op, obviously, you can take it anywhere instead of being confined, so if you like fantasy with the cartoon look & feel, this game is for you, thank you
This game brings back memories and when i saw it i had to buy it. having played the gam on pc as a child to now have it on ds is great. its just like it was on the pc, its like being a child again.
