Like some releases for U.S. Games Inc., Entombed is notable for its cartridge design, which is described as the “Beveled Case Label Variation”; it's one of the whackiest cart designs you'll ever see. The game itself is a vertical scrolling maze game, where you avoid Zombies and pick up "Make-Breaks". The Make-Breaks blast holes in the wall, which allow you to pass through that part of the maze and keep going on. You "die" when you hit the top of the screen, or touch a Zombie. The action gets faster and harder as you progress. The game could use a bit of fine-tuning and polish, but overall, it's not bad for a 2600 game. It's one of U.S. Games's finest releases.
