One of the most unlikely Nintendo heroes ever came in the form of a small, angelic boy with wings by the name of Pit. In their quest to battle the mythical Medusa, players would hop, skip and fire many arrows into floating eyeballs and evil eggplants. Gamers who wandered through the winding catacombs of its final levels were treated to one of the coolest grand finale boss battles of all times: Pit flies through the air with his shiny mirror shield in hand and reflects Medusa's brilliant beam of light back into her eyes. Kid Icarus was originally released on the Famicom Disk System, but later made it to standard NES cartridge form as well.
