Hello, I am back again with another review, this time it is Motor Psycho for the Atari 7800 Pro system. Motor Psycho definitely does play a lot like Pole Position II which is also for the Atari 7800. The game features four different tracks for you to race on. Upon entering the track, you can definitely tell that the gameplay is very much the same as Pole Position except for the removal of "Prepare to Qualify," motorcycles instead of Indy race cars, there are hill landscapes, and obstacles you can jump over. These are the only differences I found when compared to Pole Position II. The controls are the same as you play in Pole Position II on the Atari 7800. Up and down on the joystick to shift gears, left and right to steer, left button to accelerate. The only control that is added that is not in Pole Position II is the right button to jump over obstacles and other motorcyclists. The graphics is impressive, for most part, especially the way your motorcycle explodes into pieces when you crash into something, tires flying from one place to another, the parts of where you steer your vehicle that bounces up and down, good stuff. There is not much music for this game, except for the title screen, the music in the title screen is actually pretty catchy for the poor 2600 sounds. I find this game more difficult than Pole Position II on the Atari 7800. You have a limited timer clock on top of the screen and the two adjustable response times. One for straightening your vehicle and turning by using the difficulty switch to B and using the second joystick to adjust them. Motor Psycho overall is an okay game, I really wish there is more variety or a second mode to this game where you can battle other racers in an arena. Other than that it is an okay game, not a good Motorcycle game but, it is another way for a racing game at its best.
