I've always enjoyed playing the classic game of Pitfall. I have the original on my Intellivision, but after recently finding an Atari 2600 for cheap at a local pawn shop, I started searching for some games for that system. I hadn't even known that there was a sequel and was pleasantly surprised to find Pitfall II: Lost Caverns on eBay. I popped into my "new" Atari as soon as it arrived. I had the same game play style of the original, but is so much more. I highly recommend this game for vintage game enthusiasts. You won't be disappointed. Also, if you happen to have a Sega Genesis controller handy, plug that into your Atari, makes controlling Pitfall Harry a bit easier. Enjoy!

For those that had the Atari 2600, or played the compilations of Activisions golden years, has played Pitfall! That game was quite the gem in its day with its traps and hundreds of areas. A few years later, Activision released a title to little hooplah by the name of Pitfall 2: The Lost Caverns. This title was amazing. It followed the same basic design of "rooms" as you progressed. The catch, however, is that each zone was much more vast and dangerous. Instead of being a mere two levels deep per zone, they extended deep into the underground. It was easy to get lost. The game introduced new creatures that acted as obsticles, and rather than using "Lives", you had an energy bar that could be replenished when you found gold bricks. The game also introduced save, or check, points so that you didn't have to start all over at the beginning if you stepped on a creature, or took to big of a fall. For anyone that is a fan of any of the Pitfall games, this is a game you will definitely want to pick up. Highly recommended.Read full review
Pitfall II is widely considered one of the best games ever for the Atari 2600. Start to finish it is polished, sounds great, and plays great. It's a must have for Atari collectors and gamers.

The second installment to the popular Pitfall franchise, the game shows many promises and it does. The game uses every bit of power the Atari 2600 has to make a game that has surprisingly good graphics for the Atari 2600. You are bound to have the game's catchy tunes stuck in your head. This great game is arguably the best game on the Atari 2600 and gives an entirely new feel than any other game on the Atari 2600.
