Ozark Softscape's Dan Bunten is often called the father of multiplayer games. With lo-res (but cute) graphics and hummable title music by Dave Warhol, Robot Rascals was one of his wild experiments. Featuring a single-player mode that didn't demand to be played by a family of four, it even shipped with a deck of cards.
Half arcade game, half board game, Robot Rascals is a scavenger hunt in which you're a robot rolling over the terrain of a planet looking for treasure -- including the Digital Donut and Binary Boot. Like most Dan Bunten games, it's fun, easy to learn, and full of whimsical touches. Nevertheless, the hybrid design of this card/computer game didn't catch on, and Electronic Arts considered it a failure.
