In Second Sight, players are cast as a mysterious man who, at first, cannot even remember his own name. Awakening from a coma in a strange, utilitarian facility, the hero finds that he does not know who he is or why he is there. Soon, he also finds that he has been gifted with strange, potentially deadly psychic abilities. He needs answers and, guided by players from a third-person perspective, must make use of both stealth tactics and his unusual mental powers to seek them out.
Eventually, through careful observation and disturbing flashbacks, the player's character realizes that he was once part of a secret military organization, and that he came to this strange facility to recover from a failed mission in central Siberia. Further exploration and investigation reveals much more, as the hero comes to learn of other secret operations, far-reaching government conspiracies, and the soulless program of human experimentation which may have given him his strange psychic powers.
This was not an epic game, but still a great deal. It was a totally unexpected pleasure to play. A solid story, all the way through the end. Not great graphics, but adequate. In fact, some of the average graphics, mixed with the lighting, add for a more spooky feeling. Maybe that was the idea.
Lovely gameplay with only a few bugs. The idea of the game is to be stealthy through most of it, but if you happen to be in the mood to just go in shooting, it seems to be possible to do that as well, reaching a wider audience, or giving you a reason to play through it twice to see how it affects things. The psychic powers are fun and useful, while still tying in with the story, not just tossed in to make the game a little different.
Still, there are a few bugs in this game. One is talking/grab being the same button. If you are trying to talk to a civilian, or a doctor, and he happens to turn around as you hit X, you grab him, freaking everyone out, alarms go off, and, providing you are trying to be stealthy, you have to go back and try again. Just one of the things to keep aware of. Other bugs exist, but none are that bad, and can be avoided after noticing a few times.
Considering the price of this game seems usually low, I say buy, or at least rent this game if you are a fan of any shooter. Its great for stealth gamers and still good for action shooters. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.Read full review
The controls work amazingly (how you can use your mind to pick an enemy up with one hand and then shoot them with the other hand... genius!). The interface and graphics are great. I played the game awhile ago and beat it and i've been craving to play it again ever since! highly recommended, one of the BEST games i have ever played!
