Imagic foolishly advertised Shootin' Gallery as a mere child's game, but it has enough challenges and strategies to be enjoyed by even the hardiest of joystick jockeys. A must-have for Carnival fans, this colorful, nicely animated game has players maneuvering a gun across the bottom of the screen, firing at train cars, snails, rabbits, frogs, rats, elephants, inchworms and other targets while carefully monitoring the supply of bullets, which can be increased by shooting targets that appear along the bottom row. Near the top center of the screen is a clock that must be shot periodically or it will wind down, causing a cuckoo to gobble up four of your shots. Strategy comes into play when score-conscious gamers aim for certain targets over others. For example, shooting the caboose before you hit the engine nets a whopping 5,000 points, and shooting the monkey before shooting certain other targets increases the number of points you score for those targets.
