This is the original classic Star Raiders. The graphics are slightly better and the controls are better because you can use the keyboard to control the game instead of the touch pad. You can use a touch pad if you wish because the controller is compatible with both these systems and the 2600/7800. Overall a classic game.
Pretty much the best game ever for the Atari 400/800 a must have. Legend has it that some guy wrote it in Hexadecimal Machine language because the assembler wasn't out yet. I really liked star raiders 2 as well becuase you actually get to see planets which was completely unheard of at the time as far as I know.
Rings back many memories.

This game brings me back to 1978 when I spent $60 for this game. Never did beat it. My brother has it now, needed a copy.
