Great game, brings back memories

I bought the collection because I'm doing the Intellivision. I played just to test the game, so he is kept in his box. I say that the game is not as interesting as I imagined.
Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back for the Intellivision Empire Strikes Back was created and released for the Intellivision in 1983. It was created and released by Parker brothers. This was the first Star Wars Game that I ever purchased. I was 9 years old when it was released and I still have it today! :) The game is based on the Battle of HOth. THe game is a side scrolling game where you have to destroy ATAT's before they reach your base. You get a small status bar on the bottom of the screen that shows how far the ATAT's (small dot) have progressed towards your base. They start on the left and move to the right. YOu have to fly a small snowspeeder and shoot at them. The most interesting thing that I remember from the game is you can flight left or right at the speeders. You are not stuck in a side scrolling functions. The walkers can only walk left to right, but they can shoot backwards at you! You have to shoot the walkers down by holding your buttons on the controller down. If you shoot at the main walker it takes forever to destroy the ATAT's. However, at times a small glowing rectangle appears in the back of the walker and as you shoot that hole it speeds up your destruction of the ATAT. The hole was supposed to signify the release port for Stormtroopers. At times you can pick up invulnerability for your speeder and crash into the walkers to damage them! The best part of the game was the cover art. I found it really impressive! The game play was the same thing over and over. As you play it on different levels the walkers just speed up. The game graphics were blocky and the background never really changed. The walkers were black and your speeder was a greeny black colour. Overall, as a 9 year old kid I really enjoyed this game. It had Star Wars music and a theme to it. Now I can see it was basically the same thing over and over. But for the pure nostalgic feeling I rate it a 3/5. :) Play it if you can get an old intellivision working. :) Latsyrhc Tamarack CollectiblesRead full review
