The Tony Hawk Project8 game for the psp had me sticking next to my charger for weeks! This game was addicting from the moment I picked it up, with all the classic challenges from previous THPS games, plus new ones. I got easily adjusted to the different functions of the game, especially the "nail the trick". However, you dont get as much variety as you would think it would allow, you might as well slo-mo your tricks instead, which allows more time to bust a better combo and land. Also, many people love racking up the incredibly high scores, which I found have started to get played out. THP8 promised newer ways of doing tricks that require more use of the controls to get motions of a trick, however, they are pretty much the same as before. The levels aren't anything , you get to skate around your neighborhood, which is fun, but can get boring, Downtown, which seems very big, yet lonely (considering you ARE by yourself in every game). I did love the classic challenges, along with the create a skater system. Overall, the game gets a 4 out 5, if you are a devoted fan to the THPS series, you'll love this one.Read full review
The THPS series has had its ups and downs, but one of the main "downs" that has been upsetting people of a certain demographic (real skateboarders) don't like the added in "quests" or "missions" that have nothing to do with skateboarding. Also, we don't like the unrealistic air and tricks that can be done. Aside from that, this game is VERY good. Even I, who does not like the unrealistic and other non-skateboarding related material in the game, thinks this game is probably the best Tony Hawk game. It does not, however, come close to being as good as the game "Skate", which is the most realistic and best skating game I've ever played. But, since Skate isn't available on the PSP, then Tony Hawks Project 8 is as close as you're going to get to the real skateboarding experience on the PSP. I hope I helped even one person, and just so you know this is just my personal opinion. Thanks for reading!Read full review
graphics are amazing the levels are good and the locations are big you never get bored and the am pro and sick levels are nice too the only thing the i dont like is that when you jump to rail any tricks it doesnt really have the presicion sometimes i would want to land in some tricks on the reails but it would make do something else you really have to get use to it i guess overall great game
Project 8 is a great way to continue the Tony Hawk Skateboarding Series. There are new tricks, old tricks, and more. The focus technique is learn, but once in it, it's awesome. Most games get boring after a few weeks, I'm still playing new levels after a month. After doing the Full Adventure, I went back and did the Classic Mode and found 10 more levels with three different levels of ability, each with their own tasks to complete. If you are into skateboarding games, this one will keep you busy for a few months. Buy it!
game was for my 11 year old he loves all Tony Hawks games, i bought it for him for christmas but i will only take him less than one week to beat all the levels on the game. I hope he doesnt try all ther tricks on his own board that he does on the game
