Have you got one heck of a case of tennis elbow from playing too much of the real game? Don't worry, you can scratch that tennis itch with World Court Tennis for the TurboGrafx 16. Featuring singles and doubles action, you can play by yourself or with up to three friends on grass, clay, or asphalt courts. Whether swinging the racket in a forehand or backhand motion, you can lob or slice the ball, put topspin on the ball or just hit it straight and without spin. Whether serving or returning a shot, you can put a little English on the ball, and you can aim it approximately where you want it to go.
In addition to the standard tennis mode, this game features a Tennis Quest, in which you must defeat the evil Tennis King. As you walk through the various cities, searching for clues, the king's evil minions will challenge you to tennis matches, which are basically the same as the normal tennis action in the regular game. When you win a match, you will win money that can be used to buy new tennis shirts, shoes, and rackets, each of which will make you a better player. Once you have been to all the cities and beaten all the underlings, you will face the king himself in a game of tennis.
